Cinnamon Rolls

Fluffy hot cinnamon rolls. This recipe is the best home baked ever.

Ingredients

  • 1 C Warm Milk 105-115°
  • 2 pkt Yeast
  • ½ C Butter melted
  • ½ C Sugar
  • ½ tsp Almond Extract
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 4½-5 C All Purpose Flour
  • ½ C Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp Ground Cloves optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°
  • Warm milk to 105-115°, pour into large mixing bowl.
  • Add sugar and yeast, mix until yeast dissolves.
  • Add melted butter and eggs mix well.
  • Add salt and 2½ C flour, mix until smooth.
  • Stir in the rest of the flour until easy to handle, should be a soft dough.
  • Turn out onto floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic.
  • Put dough into large oiled mixing bowl cover with tea towel and let rise until double.
  • Grease 9X13 baking dish.
  • Mix brown sugar, cinnamon and cloves together in small bowl.
  • Punch down dough and take half of it and roll out into rectangle about ½ inch thick. Sprinkle with brown sugar mixture.
  • Roll up jelly roll style and cut into 10 equal slices. Put into greased baking dish.
  • Do the same with other half of dough.
  • Cover with tea towel and let rise in warm place until double.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until lightly brown on top.
  • Cool on wire rack.
  • Ice with basic powdered sugar icing while still a little warm.
