Ingredients

  • 2 C All-purpose flour
  • 3 tsp. Baking Powder
  • ¼ tsp. Baking Soda
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • ½ C Butter Flavor Crisco
  • ¾ C Buttermilk

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven to 450°
  • In large bowl mix flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
  • Using pastry blender or fork, cut in shortening until mixture resembles course crumbs.
  • Stir in buttermilk until mixture forms a soft moist dough.
  • Knead dough lightly on a floured surface until no longer sticky.
  • Press dough out to about ½ inch thickness.
  • Cut with floured 2 in. round cutter.
  • Place Biscuits on ungreased cookie sheet or baking stone.
  • Bake 450° for 8-12 minutes until light golden brown on top.
