Special Valentines Day Brownies

How to make fudgy Brownies from scratch. Instructions and pictures on how to make them into a special Valentines Day Dessert.

Brownie on small Heart Serving Plate

Brownies have been the easy and quick dessert of choice in my house since my children were young. We always make them from scratch, they seem to taste better that way. Even my grandson made a batch at Christmas this past year. Brownies are so versatile, I can dress them up for a special Occasion or keep them in a covered container for a tasty after school snack.

So Easy

Mix this recipe up and bake in the oven while fixing dinner. Serve with whipped cream and some rasberries or add sprinkling of powdered sugar sifted over the top while still warm for a decorative decorative touch.

Brownies are a very welcome addition to potlucks and/or outdoor picnics and gatherings. I have baked them in Christmas tree shaped pans, Heart shaped pans as well as cutting them and decorating them for Halloween. For the adult party, sprinkle a little Bourbon on the brownies, add a dollop of whipped cream with some chocolate shavings on top. The ways to serve this wonderful treat seems to be endless.

Try These Options

There are a couple of options to this recipe that I have tried and like. One is add a heaping teaspoon of instant coffee just before adding the boiling water. I love Mocha and this gives just a hint of that coffee flavor. You can adapt to your taste. If you like nuts in your brownies stir in a half cup of chopped nuts when you stir in the chocolate chips.

I hope you enjoy these Brownies as much as we have. With a little imagination they can be a welcome addition to any table.
